No passado dia 13 de abril, a Associação Ordem dos Pobres Cavaleiros do Templo de Jerusalém – OPCTJ e os seus parceiros Associação Thomar Honoris e Next Solution colaboraram com a ADRACES – Associação de Desenvolvimento da Raia Centro-Sul na realização do evento “Encontro História Viva”, em Zebreira, concelho de Idanha-a-Nova.
O programa contou com uma série de momentos que decorreram na Igreja do Espírito Santo. Ao longo do dia, não faltou animação e workshops que proporcionaram variadas experiências medievais ao público.
O dia teve início com o VIII Capítulo Local da Comenda de Idanhas, seguindo-se a degustação da gastronomia local (Idanha-a-Nova foi premiada pela UE como melhor Bio-Região). Seguiram-se dois seminários, sob as temáticas dos Castelos templários do concelho de Idanha-a-Nova, pelo Senhor Tenente-Coronel António Pires Nunes, e do Culto Popular do Espírito Santo, pelo GM Prof. Doutor José Manuel Anes. Por fim, a OPCTJ reuniu para a sua IX Assembleia Geral, tendo os relatórios de atividades e de contas relativos ao ano de 2023 sido aprovados por unanimidade, e a Direção recebido um louvor pelo trabalho que tem desenvolvido em prol da associação. A OPCTJ tem realizado o seu caminho contando com a colaboração dos seus membros, num trabalho conjunto, e com base no seu objeto estatutário e Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável das Nações Unidas.
A iniciativa foi promovida pela ADRACES – Associação para o Desenvolvimento da Raia Centro-Sul, no âmbito do projeto de cooperação “Templários e a Cavalaria Medieval” da Media 10.3 – Abordagem LEADER do PEPAC no Continente e contou também o apoio da União de Freguesias Zebreira e Segura e do Município de Idanha-a-Nova.

On April 13, the Association of the Order of the Poor Knights of the Temple of Jerusalem – OPCTJ and its partners Thomar Honoris Association and Next Solution collaborated with ADRACES – Association for the Development in the “Living History Encounter” event in Zebreira, in the municipality of Idanha-a-Nova.
The program included a series of events that took place in the Church of the Holy Spirit. Throughout the day, there was no shortage of entertainment and workshops that offered the public a variety of medieval experiences.
The day began with the VIII Local Chapter of the Comenda de Idanhas, followed by a tasting of local cuisine (Idanha-a-Nova awarded best Bio-Region by the EU). Two seminars followed, on the themes of the Templar Castles in the municipality of Idanha-a-Nova, by Lieutenant-Colonel António Pires Nunes, and the Popular Cult of the Holy Spirit, by GM PhD José Manuel Anes. Finally, the OPCTJ met for its 9th General Assembly. The Activity and Accounting reports for 2023 were unanimously approved, with the Board receiving a praise for the work it has been doing on behalf of the association. The OPCTJ has made its way by relying on the collaboration of its members, working together, and on the basis of its statutory object and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
The initiative was promoted by ADRACES – Association for the Development of the Border Center-South, as part of the “Templars and Medieval Chivalry” cooperation project under Media 10.3 – LEADER Approach of PEPAC on the Continentd. It also had the support of the Zebreira and Segura Parish Council and the Municipality of Idanha-a-Nova.
